There should be a serious discussion on cutting services to those living in unincorporated bexar county I think. Library services should absolutely be cut unless you can prove you live in the city. Fire and police reciprocal agreements should be reexamined. All new city employees must live in the city or move within 6 months of hire. That goes for fire and police officers too. If people don't want to live in the city then they shouldn't be working for the city.

The postal service assigns your address, guess what addresses in the heart of Alamo heights served by the Alamo heights post office are given a mailing address of San Antonio, TX

Most of the newer gates have a "Squawk" sensor on them that allow first responders to open gates via siren.

Granted, but that does not change the fact that Alamo Heights is an enclave and is wholly separate from San Antonio. That is what is change through the proposed annexation for people in my area. We will be swallowed by San Antonio.

You are in unincorporated territory, not boerne, not even the ETJ of boerne. You may do business there but you are not a resident of any city, but you are about to be

There will be plenty of opposition during the public hearings this spring. Even if the area is annexed, it will be limited annexation for a period of three years while the city makes up its collective mind. More than enough time to relocate. So no, I won't be.

Why would you have to live in a city to be an employed by that city? That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard.

San Antonio is the real problem here. Remember when Stone Oak wanted to be a stand alone city but San Antonio gobbled them up? San Antonio should only annex the NE side portion and clean it up since the county is clearly in over their head with that area.

I've seen that requirement in several cities where I've lived. Mostly for emergency personnel though...police, fire, etc and some politicians. Not sure about non-essentials.

Quite a few cities have that requirement. People would be more invested in their job if they lived in the city they worked in. Also it makes since that city wages go to those that actually live in the city.

Too many people seem to want to only work in the city and then run off to their little hideaway outside of the city after work. At least that is the picture I am getting here.
