Hello
Want to move to San Antonio from the Midwest to escape winter.
I am a hospice nurse and have about another 10 years to work, want to stay in hospice.

Have around 100k or so, give or take to spend on a house, no kids. I don't need a mansion but a nice house, perhaps on the outskirts of town, a 20-30 min commute to work is ok.

Does this sound reasonable? Any Nurse's out there?

Thanks

Nursing is a great area to be in here. As far as the 100k it may be pushing it to be "out" as "out is relative since we are a sprawling large city. I would caution you to find a job in SA before moving here.

I'm not sure what your definition of 'nice' is but I don't think you'll be able to buy a nice standalone house on the outskirts of town for $100k. There are definitely some decent condos or townhomes in that price range that you should be able to afford but they'll probably be a little older and 'in' the city rather than on the outer edges. But I'd say that's reasonable.

For 100k, you can definitely buy a home in a nice and safe neighborhood.
