I've got 4 big oak trees that need branches removed from my and my neighbor's house and then hauled off.

Needs to be done before February, I think, to stay legal.

Curious to know what you mean by "stay legal." I trim mine myself with a pole saw sometime during cooler weather, but that usually just means anything that might hit the house or droops too low such that it obstructs the driveway or other areas. I also trim some of the interior when it gets too dense, based on some chart I found once on an A&M ag page.

Other than staying clear of power lines (which I assume is the city's responsibility) I wasn't aware of any regs.

Some cities have regulations about trimming live oaks, due to oak wilt. The beetle that spreads it is active Feb-June (I think), and thus the ban on trimming during that time.

I've used "Out on a limb" - they are based on the north side off of Redland Road - they initially come out and write up an estimate for you, then complete the work at a later date upon your approval.
