I just received an estimate of $3,000 for a surgical procedure for my dog. Ouch! The A&M vet school has a full-service small animal hospital, and I'm wondering if it would be less expensive because it's a teaching hospital. Anybody know?

Yuh, I spent $2100 for a dog MRI! I feel your pain. My dog's disk compression got better with meds and therapy and we avoided surgery, which would have been equally expensive. Try calling the Texas A7M Small Animal Hospital at (979) 845-2351 and ask them directly. Good luck to you and your dog!
