Hey guys, I received a lottery type thing from a Mazda dealership, I was unsure of its authenticity but I went to the car lot and they gave me a pamphlet about where I could take a free trip where I only have to pay a small deposit for the hotel or something. Has anyone seen these or know how they really work if you redeem it? Just looking for insight! Thanks guys.

Nothing is free and gimmicks like this are more trouble than they're worth. Stay clear of the 'stealerships' that employ these gimmicks.

Dealers can buy trips at wholesale prices that include hotel and airfare. Usually a 3 day 4 night trip with the WORST flight times and hotel rooms that don't book very well. Airliners put a body on a seat and hotels fill up a room. Usually dealers pay $500 or less and rest assured they market the trip well and they do re-coup the trip cost in the car deal. Yes, so they do raffle one of the trips off, promoting the hell out of it and yes, the raffle is rigged and only a car buyer is capable of winning. They just want your name, phone number and email. Yes, you do have to pay a fee for the trip; usually it's the cost of the airline ticket at their cost for a seat for the trip....

Yeah... run......
