I am almost positive we will be moving to the city by the end of the summer. Are there a lot of dog friendly rentals around? We are looking to rent for a little bit to make sure we are in the right neighborhood and school district for our kids. We have a cat, and are getting a puppy in June. In NY, there are very, very few pet friendly rentals out there.

You should not have a problem in most places here. But, perhaps delay the puppy until you are settled?

there's millions in SA, I've been looking for me and my mutt. A lot of places charge A deposit and a fee, some have pet rent, some don't. just depends. If you check out Apartments.com it should help, I love that site, I've found so many awesome looking apartments with dog parks, hiking trails or walking trails along the river. perfect for my lil girl. I do keep an open eye for areas that allow birds, because I would like to get a duck. And my little family will be complete. Good luck, and have fun Alamo heights, live oak, Hollywood park are good higher end family areas, I love new braunfels and san Marcos. If ya'll stay in a hotel when you move here, take a drive around and see what you like!

Plenty of places accept dogs, but many also have breed and weight restrictions.
