The KKK also marches with US flags - should we ban those next?
If people long that much for a foreign country that only lasted a few years, then they are free to leave the U.S. My family has been in the South for hundreds of years, and we don't need the Confederate flag to celebrate our heritage.

They did not just remove a confederate flag. They removed a plaque that indicated that a historical figure once stayed at a building. That is ridiculous and smacks of rewriting history to me.

If that's the company they want to keep then so be it.
Soon it will be the United States Flag, they will remove it for the same excuses given for the Confederate flag.

While I think removing the plaque is ridiculous. They aren't rewriting anything. He still stayed there, are just no longer advertising/promoting it.

Nice.

The people who want the symbols removed are the last people who want to forget and or re-write history. They certainly want everyone to remember exactly what happened so history will not repeat itself. Choosing to remove a symbol has nothing to do with changing what happened.

This ridiculous argument that choosing not to honor a group or individual with a flag or statue has anything to do with trying to re-write history is absolute garbage. Smoke and mirrors.

Add the "slippery slope" argument as well. If they take this flag down what's next? The American Flag? Rubbish. Also smoke and mirrors.

Fly your flags as high as you want, it's still very legal to buy and display your flags on your own property. No one is coming to take that away from you.

How is this rewriting history? Please explain. Is the county changing history books?

The slippery slope fallacy.
