This is who my OB recommended... I have a question though- I am looking for someone very pro breastfeeding... would you say Dr. Pauli is pro breastfeeding? I also don't want an "antibiotic happy" doctor... I know I don't want my child taking antibiotics when it isn't totally necessary... thoughts? How is Pauli in that regard?

Thanks!!

Call Dr. Chintapalli's office and visit with her--I nursed when my youngest was a baby and she was his pedi. She's very down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and knows her stuff.

Looks like she is at A thru Z Pediatrics now, but when we used to use her (she's not on my plan anymore) she was at Bitters and 281 in the building by the Target.

Default pediatrics

We were not happy with ABCD Ped. We've been here for almost a year with our 11 and 3 year old kids. Last time our 3 y.old got very sick, they couldn't take him same day and Michelle (scheduling?) treated us so poorly! When I suggested that I'd stop using their service and go to with Urgent Care across the street (we had to use them many times; one time ABCD could not even see a severe ear infection in our boy so we ended up there same evening!)- she said: Please do, go ahead!!
So u judge. We lived in many states and have seen many pediatricians; we have very high standards and expectations when it comes to health of our kids.
Good luck!!

North East PEdiatrics - Dr. Howelton. My mother in law has known her for about 30 years and wouldn't let us go anywhere else. I am very glad for that as she is one of the best doctors I have ever interacted with. This is coming from a guy whose dad is a doctor.

There are a lot of folks who go to her so getting in at the last minute is not always easy - but usually happens if necessary. Very professional and knowledgeable. I imagine all of her partners are the same, but I can't speak for them.

We are huge fans of ABCD as well. We have always been able to get in the same day for sick appointments. They also have a location in Schertz should Stone Oak not be able to get you in for some reason. While we have enjoyed each Dr. we have met at the Stone Oak location, I highly recommend Dr. Tressler and Dr. Gonzales.

As recommended by a friend, our daughter was originally set up to see (and was examined at the hospital) a physician from South Texas Center for Pediatric Care. They are also in Stone Oak, right down the street from ABCD. I will never in a million years bring my daughter back to that office-send me a DM if you need more information.

I have heard great things about Diane McMains who is in that clock tower building on 281 off Bitters. She is supposed to be pro breastfeeding and ok with alternative vax or no vax. I have not gone to her yet but I do know if you do a "no show" on her 3 times then she won't see you again. The girl on the phone sounds like she's dead, but there is another girl there who is all bright and helpful. So many moms say good stuff about McMains they just say don't get the other docs in her practice.

Another okay one is Dr Kaldas, he's at north central baptist in the Atrium building upstairs (go to where the lactation center/gift shop is and through the doors and up the elevator). He's from Egypt. His receptionist/nurse Debbie is pleasant and helpful. He will push vaccines on you and if you don't vax then he will push you to sign the AAP Refusal to Vax form. Other than that he is good and thorough and he has same day appts and the wait is about 5-10 mins.

Oh wanted to mention the ladies at the North Central Baptist Lactation center recommend Daniel Trevino and he's up on Stone Hue right across from the Gastroenterology building. They have a sick/well partition but I found the receptionist to look intensely bored and annoyed with my request for a business card when I stopped in.

I would NOT recommend McMains - PM me if you'd like to know why.

My daughter is currently seen by her, and we are searching for a new pedi who is willing to take my non-vaccinated {due to health & religious beliefs} daughter who also accepts medicaid.

Keep in mind...during the times of the year when EVERYONE is getting sick, there will sometimes be more sick patients than can be seen.

When I took my daughter in to be seen (flu) a few weeks ago, the ONLY reason that she could be seen that day was that we took her brother's well-visit time. They told me that they were seeing three times the normal number of sick kids.

While it's wonderful to be able to be seen on a moment's notice, you have to wonder why the schedule is so empty?
