I drive on 410W from medical center and pass by 151 exit every morning leaving my house at 7am. I would say from my house to 151 exit, it takes about 10 mins or less. Traffic always looks much much worse on the opposite side of 410 at the same time since a lot of people are driving into San Antonio to work.

My husband has to go from 1604/Marbach to I-10 and 1604 in the mornings. When he has to be in at 6am, the drive only takes about 25 minutes. If he's got to be there at 7 or 8, the drive will take at least an hour, usually more. His solution is to go in early and use the gym at work...more useful and less frustrating than spending the extra time in traffic.

Hopefully when they get all that construction done, it will help. But probably by then, the city will have grown and the roads will still be too crowded.

Right now the bad spot on 1604 is at Braun.

Completely agree!!!

Drive in to loop 410 and out to 151.

The Rim on I-10 is substantially closer to where you are driving from on 1604/281 than 151. 1604 and the ramp to I-10 will be a mess but there is a back way off the 1604 access rd before you get to the ramp. For all that people hate Stone Oak traffic, you could not pay me enough to deal with traffic on the far NW side of SA. At least near SO there are options on back roads.

Of course, sorry, I've been driving over there lately and traffic is not fun. I keep thinking about how often people complain about 281/1604 on C-D and think it's as bad or worse. Tired and grouchy today so I vented. Still, if you do live north of 1605 and can work at the Rim or 151, I think the Rim is a no-brainer.

There are, but when you try them at rush hour and the other 50 people who had the same idea are all stopped ahead of you at the light that only lets 5 cars go at a time, it doesn't usually work very well.

Actually, that time of day the traffic is all headed TOWARDS 281, not from 281. My daughter lives in the Judson/1604 area and when I babysit overnight to watch the grandkids, I drop them off at school and shoot home in the AR area. The traffic TOWARDS AR is a breeze once you pass 281/1604 intersection, but is backed up for miles and miles headed the opposite directions.

Hope this helps!

Just learned today, Looks like Evans road makes you turn right on 281 then u turn it back down towards 1604 .I'll have to drive down Bulverde road to the 1604 to begin my drive . Not sure if that will be any better?

I', confused by last comment. Is traffic worst heading to 151 via 1604 from 281 worst in the am?
