I', confused by last comment. Is traffic worst heading to 151 via 1604 from 281 worst in the am?
When I need to go south on 281 I use Encino Rio, which allows you to turn left onto 281. The Evans Road thing makes me nuts for some reason. Encino Rio has a couple of stop signs and a couple of school zones and the speed limit is 30 but it's still better to me than turning right on 281 and doing the turnaround.

Oh, and actually turning right from Evans and doing the turnaround is not that bad time-wise. It just annoys me. LOL

If you're going from Evans Road and 281 to Wiseman and 151 expect it to take about an hour. Traffic begins thinning around 8:00 so that might help. I drive the opposite direction about an hour earlier each day and I see traffic backed up on 281 south at 1604, then a pretty big backup heading between around Bitters Road to I-10, then a backup from around Babcock to Braun, and a pretty solid backup from Braun to Culebra through the construction zone. The construction zone and stoplights in that area are what makes it unpredictable. 410 might be a better choice.

To me it is, to my husband, it isn't. I don't mind the stop signs and school zones, he is annoyed by them. Also, he leaves at 6:30 am and doesn't run into major traffic until he gets near the 1604/281 intersection. Then it's slow going all the way till he gets to I-10.

I travel that way every day. I live off of 281 North of 1604. Drive to just past the Rim on I-10. If I leave at 7, then I'm there by no later than 7:35.
Afternoons are a different deal. Leave approx. at 4, home by 4:45 to 5:00.
