Odd question since I thought it was fairly cut and dry...

I've got an old TV that I need to get rid of but struggling with finding a place to take it.

Anyone have any ideas, preferably in north central SA.

Put it out by your curb...it'll be gone shortly thereafter.

TVs are on the list of accepted items through the Household Hazardous Wasted program:

Household Hazardous Waste Accepted and Not Accepted Materials

It looks like you can drop off at the Bitter Recycling Center today (1st Sat. of Month) or any Tuesday - Sat. at the Culebra location across from the Northside ISD sports complex:

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Centers and Mobile Sites

You will need to bring your CPS bill:

The curb is easier...list it on Craigslist and tell them free for the taking and address. It'll be gone even quicker.

I took it to Best Buy at the Rim and they took it. The screen has to be less than 28 inches. My tv was but those suckers are heavy. The guy at the front helped me get it out of my vehicle and onto the cart and wheeled it inside. Painless process and they were very friendly...no hassle.

+1 on Craigslist but don't put your address...give it to the 1st person that says they can have it gone quickly. I put my address once and several people showed up after it was gone knocking on my door.

Last time I put something out there and listed it, I included "it's gone if it's not out there" in the ad....worked like a charm, no one knocked.

I learned quite by accident that folks would come around my old neighborhood in PA the night before our trash pickup looking for anything interesting sitting out by the curb for trash day the next day. They wouldn't do dumpster diving, but if you wanted, say to get rid of an old rusted out lacrosse net. It would be gone by the next day. I was always amazed what people would take into their homes.

In order to prevent fines, you must properly dispose of your old appliances. That means donating them to charity or having them hauled away by a donation center.
