The Alamo City is finally having a moment. A big one. It’s been named the Second Best Travel Destination in the world. That’s right, the world.

Hmmm.. I don't know about this list. I didn't think Iceland was all that great (visited twice, Keflavik,Reykjavic and surrounding areas.). I didn't find Cincy to be anything special either. Los Angeles does have a lot to offer.

This a list of recommended places to visit for 2016 ("Where to go in 2016") - not a definitive ranking of the best places in the world. The list changes 100% every year on this and other similar websites.

I do like SA and this is good for the city - I just want to shed some realistic light on the interpretation of the BudgetTravel website.

Curious they're comparing US cities with countries. Why wouldn't they compare cities to cities and countries to countries? I saw a few foreign cities, but many more are countries.

Thanks Paka, it believable. Notice during spring break on how crowded downtown S.A. will be. Furthermore, a few months ago, we tried going downtown for dinner and couldn't find any parking and nothing special was going on, not even a convention!!
S.A. is really is a "cool" place to live in.....

Parking is a PITA! No free parking anywhere except on Tuesdays after 5PM. (You can park in Houston FREE on the weekends)
Streets loud and crowded even if nothing is going on. Just few streets around the river are nice, if you get "lost" you will see lots of boarded houses and homeless sleeping on the streets. Not a pretty picture.

Do you even visit here? A few streets around the river? Sorry it is not as sterile as Houstons soulless DT. (And yes as a city as a whole I really like Houston)

can you not pay for parking? (SA does not need to allow free parking since DT is always crowded)

Oh wait I see what you did....

There is a lot of on-street free parking. Meters are free in the evenings.

Homeless are in every city, I actually find them to be much lower in number here than in other much wealthier cities.
