Im thinking of moving from Toronto to San Antonio, Texas.

As a single guy, how much salary on average would i have to make to live somewhat comfortably.
My idea of comfort is paying my monthly expenses and have savings as well - i think thats what everyone would say lol

Is 45k a year too less? Also, which is cheapest to live and which is best place to work (most opportunities)? San Antonio, houston, or Austin?

Please assist the most u can ...thank u

San Antonio is cheapest and 45K would be fine for a single a guy.

San Antonio's young population is exploding and new developments are sprouting up all over DT.

Probably more opps in Houston, but SA is cheaper and a vibrant, growing city. personally, I like Houston too but between the two I'd go with SA. I love Austin, where I live, but it is very expensive and there are not as many jobs and too much competition

In terms of opportunities, Houston though the O&G Upstream industry there is hurting, badly, however other sectors are still booming. In terms of COL, San Antonio seems best.

Those Canadian border officers can be big trouble for U.S. folks wanting to stay there unless you are there for a short vacation and promise not to work. A NAFTA letter makes it easy for long term business visitors.

Im not nervous but excited. I mean sure i have my doubts about some stuff but nothing major. I wouldn't move though. i need an offer before i do as hard as it may be. Besides moving to Canada might not be best considering how our dollar is so low. Getting around isn;t the hard part but finding a good paying job without a degree is. Your best chance is doing what i do. Apply for jobs here and hope for the best.. apply thorugh recruiters will boost your chances.

I am trying so hard to get an offer in an accounting industry anywhere in US but primarily SA, I would highly appreciate the help .... im beggin ya lol...

I am just curious, is it mainly cost of living that attracts you to San Antonio?
