I know there have been donut/doughnut threads in the past, but things may have changed since then.

I was perusing a local foodie magazine while I was at Brindles Ice Cream parlor. The cover story was donuts. I've only been to 3 donut shops here in San Antonio (Krispy Kreme, Dunkin' Donuts, and Shipley's). So far, my fave is up in Austin (Gourdough's).

I don't wanna go to all 6 donut shops that were listed in the article, so I'm hoping you all can help me decide which one(s) I should try (please vote in the POLL). Thank you.

I'm also not impressed with DD . I'm more into their breakfast sandwiches .I like Shipley donuts better. As far as independents, hebs are actually pretty good. Super Donuts in Cibolo are really good too. La Popular has good donuts for a Mexican bakery too. Any other suggestions (non chain) do tell please!!

We have a Super Donuts on Bulverde Rd that is really good. Shipley's has always been a favorite. Instant Donuts on Judson is pretty good, too. HEB has really good old fashioned donuts if you can get them fresh.

I vaguely remember reading good things about La Popular (never been there), and was pretty surprised it didn't show up on the list.

Hmm, two more donut shops I've never heard about 'til now.

Too late.

My goal is to hit-up one donut shop (maybe two if the votes are close) based on the poll results.
