Thank you Caligirl, I just purchased a 7 mgpixel camera and had to try it out. I've got Seguin and environs coming up next.

Looking forward to them! The detail, color, focus and clarity are really good. Great investment choice that you made...Guess I'm old school and partial to my good ol' canon rebel, one day I will make the move to digital. I'm going to show my Cali people your photos...

Been shooting since '65. Thanks for spreading the word. I purchased an inexpensive Sanyo at Wal-Mart for $128.00; got the image stabilization I wanted. Where can I see your pics? (May I see your pics?)

Cool! We are looking to retire to the area. DH is a DFW native and of course, has "seen it all" but I haven't. Thanks for showing me what my new stomping grounds will look like.

Gruene is an old cotton farm community that had the antique dealers move in in the 70's. It has been a movie set for several films including Michael filmed in the 90's, starring John Travolta. They used the Gruene Hall in that movie.

I'm getting ready to place Seguin, McQueeny and Lake Placid on the thread right now.

You see some pics of the Palace Theatre in Seguin. It was opened in 1947 and the original owner also owned the Texas theatre in Seguin and the Dixie Drive-In in Seguin. Besides those he owned a number of theatres in small towns in central and south Texas. His son owns it now and it is used for plays and occasional movies. The people in Seguin are now working on restoring the Texas Theatre, which you can see in a few minutes. What I liked about the Palace is that it has a kids room in the back with glass separating the area so that people aren't bothered by crying babies. There is also a smoking room.
