The big question is: How long would Obama last, before someone tries (or DOES) to take him out (whack, assassinate..whatever word you want to use)? You have to believe that some are thinking about this in the back of their minds already.

I'm with you firstclass...I think someone will make him their target. The reprocussions of that is a scary thought too.
I still have yet to make my mind up on who to vote for though.

My DH and I were discussing the very thing a few days ago...and if he DOES select Hillary as his V/P running mate, it would not take a rocket scientist to figure out who done it!

I have two words for Mr Obama to keep in mind...VINCE FOSTER!!!

I know that it's terrible to think this way, but there is still racism out there. I figured the question would come up sooner or later.

My concern would be if it were "beneficial" for his "running mate" to have him out of the picture more than racial concerns....but that is just me.

I suppose having a "rainbow" family (our kids are mexican, asian, black and white) I don't see color so much.

No doubt there is some ignorant people thinking about that, but I think by and large this country is past doing something like this.

Wow, such a thought never occured to me.

Still doesn't. I don't see him at any more risk than any other president. Would be a pretty stupid reason not to vote for someone.

I agree. One shouldn't be swayed by the thought of the candidate "being able to last or not" once they are president.

I don't agree that he's not at risk than any other candidate though. There are a lot of ignorant (and old school) folks still out there.
