Looking for parents of children who go to Alamo Ranch, Elem, Middle and High Schools. Relocating and have kids in all schools. I've done research (weighing good and bad comments) What I'm finding is Brennan is a good HS but the feeder middle schools not so much...(haven't read much about the Elem feeder schools) Or for example Brisco is a great Middle school but I believe feeds into Taft which is just ok... Just looking to get some more thoughts on parents experiences with the schools. I love the area but most of Alamo Ranch feeds into Taft and if I focus more towards Brennan, the Middle and Elem schools do not seem as good. Luna for example. I would love to hear something positive about Luna Middle and haven't. Sports is a component also, basketball and football which I also hear Brennan is known for. This is all 3rd party, nothing I am endorsing. Please share your thoughts. This is a tough decision for us. Thank you kindly.

There are many threads on here already about AR and the schools. Doing a search may help find the answers you need.

Also, school "boundary" lines change from time to time because of schools being "capped". That is why working with a realtor they will help you because they keep up with all that info. Sent you a direct message that might help you with some of your questions, but our youngest is almost 27 so I am WAY out of the loop about schools.

I don't have kids in the area anymore but many friends still do. I was told that all of Alamo Ranch feeds into Taft High School. But until the new Harlan High School opens in 2017 to the west of Alamo Ranch, Taft is capped to all new incoming students who live south of Alamo Ranch Parkway in Alamo Ranch and they are sent to Brennan High School which is actually closer to more Alamo Ranch neighborhoods than Taft. Areas inside of 1604 off Culebra are also included in the cap. It's a short term solution until Taft gets breathing room again. Briscoe Middle School is still the school for Alamo Ranch neighborhoods...that hasn't changed and it isn't capped. Briscoe is a fairly new school and rated highly, according to my friends that live in the area.

New Cole Elementary is also planned to open by Fall of 2016 and most of Alamo Ranch, south of Alamo Ranch Parkway, will be zoned to this school. Other AR neighborhoods are zoned for Hoffman Elementary or Mireles Elementary, both fairly new schools. My friends aren't sure who told you that the elementary and middle schools are questionable because they're fairly new and they are quite happy with them.

FYI...Home | Northside Independent School District will give you boundary maps and you can also plug in your home address and it will tell you what schools your kids will attend, including any temporarily capped schools.

Check out Fronterra at Westpointe. It's a brand new master planned community right next to Alamo Ranch (south side of Wiseman). Schools for Fronterra at Westpointe are Hoffman Elementary, Briscoe Middle, Brennan HS.
