No, only the one way. Other side opens 2-3 weeks later

Yesterday afternoon, on the way home from Dallas. I did not immediately override my Waze route to take me in to 410 to get to Potranco. It was a refreshingly unremarkable experience making it all the way to the 151 before hitting any lights and no slowdowns.

A couple more weeks and I can once again start thinking of places north of Culebra as a short drive.

:-)

My commute home yesterday was an absolute breeze! So happy to have (half) the freeway done.

I still, for the life of me, cannot figure out what causes everyone (in both southbound lanes of 1604) to hit their brakes near the Bandera Rd exit. Are their ghosts in the area? What could possibly exist that causes nearly everyone to feel the need to abruptly slow down to 45 mph on a perfectly straight and unobstructed stretch of freeway?

This place has some of the most tentative, hesitant, and indecisive drivers I’ve ever seen.

I think you're referring to the last second hoppers exiting at the last second possible.

I'm thinking they should put the Bandera exit right after Hausman and make them get off miles earlier. Then again, I suppose the Banera-ites would still wait until the last second and cause a backup for Kyle Seale.

That's probably it, but the reason they do it is probably to avoid being backed up on the highway before the ramp. There's not much room between the ramp and the traffic light for the amount of traffic that exits there. Moving the exit back would allow traffic to build up on the frontage road further from the intersection and might alleviate that jam up at the top of the current ramp causing the slow down, but who knows if that's even doable.
