Wow. $7 is a great deal. We paid a lot more than that at the vet's office for our kitty.

A (perhaps dumb) question- where do we actually get the tag that shows the microchip #? My dog was microchipped when we got him (rescue dog, 4 years ago).

You should have been given a tag when you adopted him with the chip number on it. I guess you could always take him to the vet and have the vet scan him and find out what the chip number is. Another thing too...you actually have to register the microchip with the company who produced the microchip---at least that's what we've had to do for all 3 of our pets (you have to give description of the pet with the chip, your address and phone number in case your pet ever gets lost, etc). But if you can find out the microchip number, I'm sure you can contact any microchip company to find out what needs to be done to register the chip.

I did register him with 24petwatch. I don't remember if they gave us a tag, though. I can probably get another one from them...

In that case, you should be able to get one from 24petwatch. I know the one we use (HomeAgain) you can get another one for a few dollars.

Yes, you can contact the company to get one of those plastic yellow tags. I believe they charge $3.95 or so.
