It actually ended up being 3 times for us last night in total, but once was very brief (less than 5 minutes).

Our rain gage tops out at 4 inches and was overflowing, so I have NO idea how much we officially got, but it was a LOT!!!

I am so-o-o-o fed up with this grid I'm on. Lights went out about 3:30 and came back on about about 6:45. Anytime there's a bad storm coming I start shutting things down cause I know what's coming.......

For y'all west side people some wind must have came through because power lines were blown down all over the 90 aces road.

I wonder if the outage is widespread, or isolated? I'm assuming the outage was reported early this morning. If it is a customer without a smart meter, and it's limited to just a couple of homes, the clock doesn't start running on a response, until someone reports it.

I called my outage in before 5:00 this morning, and it took a full 5 hours after that, to restore service. I think residential outages that are isolated, are given a lower priority for response, based on my past experience. I've certainly never experienced an outage at any place I've worked, that came anywhere close to the duration of several of the outages I've had at my home.

Yes there are still widespread outages according to the CPS Energy outage map. It was a pretty hellacious storm in terms of lightning last night. I would bet it was equally bad for the electric system.

Our phones are out. Landlines from ATT. Calling them is next to useless. Their automated system says you can talk to a live agent anytime. That is a flat out lie. If you say you want a live agent - it drops you into an automated system that refuses access to a live agent. It tells you that you will be repaired in a week's time. No way to get info on what the problem is.

If you repeatedly press "0", it says it will connect you to someone but then says the office is closed and hangs up.

It is despicable that they cannot even tell you if there is an area outage or what the problem is. Wait for a week - for God's sake.

I can tell you from past experience, that it can take a few days for AT&T to respond to a residential POTS landline outage. At least they gave me a credit, for the days it was out. They're hemorrhaging landline customers, and delayed responses like that don't help.

Our cells have crappy reception in the house. Walking about and standing on the toilet to get some bars isn't the best service.

We kept a land line just in case.
