You probably need to re-read my posts from the top down. I have no problem with nor do I not know where there are foreign cultures in San Antonio.

The death of bookstores is sad but a national effect. Borders and Books-a-million tanked here and elsewhere. In part, Amazon killed them. However, I am impressed with the San Antonio public library. It was limited years ago but now there are great branches. The online systems allow you to almost any new book fairly quickly.

My old home town, far away, is gone now, unrecognizable. Such is life.

Does anyone here remember Waldonbooks? Those stores were a real treat as part of my mall trips during my youth. Along with the Chick-fil-a when they were basically all tiny mall restaurants.

I remember Waldonbooks, of course. I always went to Border Books as of late. They even had coffee shops inside them until, as was entered here earlier, the whole chain went bankrupt.
Now I go to Barnes and Noble.

I loved Book Stop (local chain, I believe)...I think they got bought out by B&N...

Something about the smell of books when you walk into a bookstore

I remember going to Book Stop alright Pobre. Was there one in Wonderland, I can't remember anymore. I think they used to be KLRN sponsors if I remember correctly.
Soon even the bookworm will go the way of the Horned Toad, extinct.

The only locations I can remember are I-10 past Wurzbach near The Colonnade, 281 and Bitters, then in Alamo Heights. I'm not sure if they had anymore locations.

In my quest to find out all the former locations of Book Stop, I came across an interesting article about a former book store in San Antonio called "Rosengren's" in downtown area. I have never heard of it but I would have liked to have visited this place.
