There are tons of apartments in NW San Antonio near USAA, SoTexMed, Valero, UTSA, etc.

I would recommend the San Miguel Apts - San Miguel Apartments

Actually to see what the apartment is really like you would need to drive up here one weekend (preferably on a Saturday) and check it out.. Although I can link stuff on here I am not sure what each one of the apartment complexes look like.

Here's a link to a complex near Culebra and 1604 (Northwest side). That's where we will temporarily be living til our house is finished. 1-bedroom starts at $655.
Welcome to Laurel Canyon Apartments

What about renting a condo? There is also a place that I rented by UTSA that was very affordable during college. It was very cheap and humble. It's called campus side apartments on road runner way. Keep in mind, there is nothing great about these apartments.

Ok eagle ridge is really shady. I had a friend who lived there and said cops were there all the time and it was not a "nice" place.

I have actually lived in a few place on the nw side.

Signature Ridge
Really nice apt's-- my 2 bd room was about 950.
Its a total college complex and had ton's of partys on the weekends. Thats why I moved from there.

I lived on my own for a while at Shadow Valley apts.
They are older but its a quiet area and the people are nice.
I paid 535 for rent and water for 600 sq ft.

I now live in verde braun station in a 900+ for 735.
its a 1 bd room as well.
