I guess I have to get use to SA becoming a suburb of Austin.

This is more of the point I'm trying to make, I guess Seattle wasn't a very good example, but Austin definately is

Imagine how much more vibrant downtown will be once River North is completed (if it is approved)! That's what SA, and most US cities, need in my opinion - reurbanization. Bring everyone back closer together, makes things easier to get around to and saves on gas! I hate suburbia, or at least how builders are doing it now.

Very good point. That extension will benefit more than just tourists!

I thought it was already u/c, or should I say under renovation already. Anyways correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't kept up with it.

Yes...absolutely under construction and a lot of it complete. I believe there are some portions both North and South that have not been approved....or still in development.

The river extention is under construction, but I am talking about that whole district they are planning on building (the performing arts district, broadway neighborhood, etc). It's called River North, here is the website.

Bite your tongue! I don't get why having towering buildings makes a city more desirable. If skyscrapers are your thing, then you need to go where they are. Lamenting and whining about how there aren't any in SA isn't going to get them built.

SA doesn't need any more skyscrapers downtown. Take half the great cities in Europe -- their skylines are smaller than ours, yet they are world-class cities. SA is perhaps more European than any big city in Texas or the US for that matter. SA doesn't need a huge skyline to be great.
