Hi Asiasd!
First of all, thank you for your service, and Happy Veteran's Day!

As for recommendations, I'd encourage you to also consider looking in the areas north of Wurzbach Parkway, and south of 1604 on either side of 281. I live in the Bitters/Blanco area and work very near SAMMC. My commute ranges from 15-30 minutes depending on time & traffic.

We used lived on the far west side, a little south of Alamo Ranch. We liked the area, but could not deal with the traffic any longer. There has been improvement over the last year, but growth is so crazy we got out of there.

We too, were looking to get into Alamo Heights, but were priced out. We bought a great house for the price of a small dump in Alamo Heights. The area I recommended is NE School district, and we've been very happy so far. Lots of parks, YMCA's, and all the other stuff too. Happy hunting!

I would look at the gardens at urban crest. Zoned to excellent schools and less than 10 minutes to base.

Never heard of the Gardens at Urban Crest. So what's the deal with the schools in Cibolo? I actually work for the school district there as well as live in Schertz and am a tax payer.
The schools in Schertz and Cibolo are part of the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD. There is Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Selma if you are a catholic and want them to go to parochial school. Schertz has a YMCA. There are soccer fields here, several parks and they just gave the public a tour here recently of our new Natatorium right next to the YMCA and Senior Center. We have a nice public libary. You can go to Live Oak to the Regal Cinema, plus New Braunfels isn't that far away and they have at Creekside Shopping Center a movie theatre, plus the Lone Star Drive In.

Thanks all! Lots of great suggestions.

Fritos56, a parochial school is not what we want. Schertz's public elementary is rated 4/10 so it's not an option. Cibolo's much better, 8/10. After many more searches and discussions, Cibolo is actually towards the top of our list and we're looking as far as New Braunfels... Thanks for the input.

Appreciate all of you taking the time to help us!

Is this Judson ISD? Because Schertz Cibolo ISD is one district. and they have many elementaries. and in geberal is very good. Even Judson is so-so. Ask for input from the forum about districts. Using just Great schools for your research is not the best idea..many reviews are very old and do not reflect the current state of the school or the district....
