Yes, as in Citizen's Band radios, those things that were so popular in the 70's when big rig and Trans Am cars were big, and C.W. McCall wrote numerous songs about them!

I found two on IH-10 East (WamComm and Radar's), but I was wondering if anyone knows of any closer to the SW or NW parts of town, or out IH-10 west?

Thanks! M2

Wow, that's a blast from the past! I still have a CB radio or two tucked away at home, but I probably haven't used one in a decade. If you need a radio repaired, this place (http://home.satx.rr.com/kcomm/ - broken link) could probably do the work. As far as getting a new radio, the only places I've seen lately that sell them are truck stops.

the internet has everything.. Strange you should mention this because I was just reading about a Bluetooth CB on Engadget a few days ago.. and I remarked to the person next to me "I didn't even know people still used those things"..

Cobra adds Bluetooth to CB radio, truckers rejoice - Engadget

I remember having a CB back in the 70's. It was fun listening to the truckers. Some of them would not talk to you if they did not hear the engine noise in the background.

BTW: CB radios are alive and well on ebay.

try Two Way Mobil, which is on the far Far north side, North of 1604 off 281 at 18911 Redrock Crk (210) 845-9575

Kcomm on Gulfdale might also be able to help.

... RE the funny previous posts.... I still have a pair of brown leather Dingo boots from the late '70's packed away somewhere

I lived in an apartment complex in Virginia Beach in the 80's and there was a couple that had one attached to a huge HF antenna outside their apartment (no clue how the complex didn't notice that and how the couple thought they could get away with it). The woman was really stupid because she didn't realize the power she was broadcasting with blasted onto televisions and she was constantly trying to pick up truckers and other CB users. I reported her to the FCC because I was getting sick of hearing her stupid voice when I was trying to watch TV. Hopefully her husband/boyfriend/whatever was smart enough to figure out she was a nasty skank, but he probably wasn't..

We have them in three of our vehicles
Each Jeep has one so that when we go "Jeepin" we can talk to each other. My hubby's truck has one so that when we go campin or on a road trip we can hear the truckers talking about where all the DPS troopers are

Radio Shack sells them but I don't know if they repair them. Heck even Walmart sells them.
