As a resident of Alamo Ranch, I am deeply saddened and completely unnerved by yesterday's tragedy. Ever since the 151 access overpass was opened last weekend, I've already seen and been involved in several near-misses by drivers not paying attention to their surroundings, as well as a stop sign that was laying on the ground. This whole project is a disaster, one of the most poorly engineered I've ever seen. The lanes are horrible and it's clear many people are confused by the design. The project was obviously rushed, and the overpass opened before it should have. I really hope these three people will not have died in vain. I hope Tx DOT steps up and considers making some changes before another person dies.

Tragedy. There are many highway interchanges all over that are quite confusing all over the country that are pretty impractical for drivers. Especially for people whom are travelers and unused to the area they are visiting. I have seen worse interchanges in larger cities.
I used it last Monday without trouble.
Until locals get very familiar with that intersection it will be hazardous I think.

True, but THIS intersection is the one my wife has to navigate twice a day, and all I keep thinking about is that could have been her getting t-boned yesterday. I've asked her to not even go that way anymore until they fix things, or at least install a full traffic signal.

There has been accidents all over SA this week, not just AR. Twice this week, I have had to sit in heavy traffic on I-35 towards downtown from the southside because of major accidents. It is rare to see these type of accidents on my trek home during non-holiday times.

In the AR incident, it is probably a combination of poor traffic planning and out-of-town drivers that are unfamiliar with how crappy the roads can be here.

From where the accident happened, it looks like someone clearly ran the stop sign. Terrible that this could happen at a four-way stop.

I saw this on the news and am saddened by what happened. But why are you so quick to blame the accident on the construction project? Let's wait till more facts come out. More than often, people need to be aware of their surroundings and obey traffic signs and laws.

They have yellow warnings letting people know a stop sign is completely no and the. The stop sign. The intersection is busy so this guy clearly ran the stop sighs. Why is he not facing charges?

I almost got t-boned last Sunday by someone who didn't know they were supposed to stop...because their stop sign was laying face down in the grass. Who's fault would that have been? Considering there were crews digging right there, I can only suspect one of the workers removed the sign temporarily. Could have had tragic results.

If you look at the crash site photos the stop sign is not a temporary stop sign and it is standing. Anyone with a brain would know that when you see a caution sign with a picture of a stop sign you would slow down because a stop will follow...
