I'm new in town and I've seen guys with the spurs logo tattoo'ed on the neck! Does anyone know if this a gang thing or if they're just supper fans? If it's not a gang thing I'm going to get one cause it's so PIMP!

I doubt it'd be a gang thing. But it could make someone a whole lot less employable...

Yeah, it might be better all around if you buy a jersey instead.

Not a gang thing

Why don't you spend money on buying a nice jersey instead of a tattoo?

Scuba Steve and metalfish are correct. The tattoo is an idiot thing and will make you less employable but make no mistake, it is gang thing. While it is impossible to say all people with this tattoo on their neck are gang members (fco411 would likely not be) generally one can assume the bearer to be a gangmember. The tats from a local sports franchise can indicate which city the person is from while they are in prison. Prisoners from Dallas may have a Dallas Cowboys or Dallas Stars star. Likewise a person from Houston my have the Astros star. Again, all persons bearing this logo are not GMs.
I know a fellow officer with a spider-web tattoo placed on his elbow. The larger of this type of tattoo indicates the more prison time one has served. My fellow cop and friend has clearly not been to prison. Similarly a student with sagging pants is likely not committing "special favors"for other prisoners, it's just the origin of the act.

I think I started a tattoo thread a while ago and this probably could've gone in there..

I personally like neck tattoo's, but would never get one unless I won the lottery.. Unfortunately tattoo's are still misunderstood, underappreciated, and negatively stereotyped.. gang members usually have garbage ink on them, while someone that actually appreciates the art has individual works that can take from several hours to years to finish.. I'm sure quite a few people work with ink aficionados, but don't know it because they are forced to cover their art because of the ignorant stereotyping that is prevalent in this society..

Since we're feeding a troll...learning to spell is also "pimp". If we ever see anyone with a "Spers" tattoo, we'll know it's him.
