What about a band called Hydra?

I am assuming that it is the place on Zarzamora. If so, will the old Malt House be next? The Westside is getting gutted of its old business landmarks.

I went to Karam's for dinner on New Year's Eve. I asked the owners..it is NOT closing. There is no plans to close and they deny even thinking about closing. I went right to the horses mouth and that's the answer I got.

I will check with my friend, the member of the Karem family who told me it was closing at near the end of 2007. I don't know if they found someone else to run it or what. She told me the Karem children (of which she is one) had decided they didn't want to continue operating the busness and had sold, or were in the process of selling, the building where it was located to a developer. This was back in September or October, I have to go back and see when I first posted it. I saw her before Christmas and she didn't mention any kind of change of heart on the children's part, although we didn't talk about the restaurant specifically.

Did a little GBNF site seeing this week and thought I'd share some pics with the group. This first set is a few shots of the picnic tables and bridge supports left over from the Algo Differente Golf Course/resort

These next are of the original Frost Mansion. I read that the original Frost mansion was preserved and located in the Las Cimas apartments where it is open to the public. So I went out to find it.

This last is of what some have referred to as the Old House on 9 mile hill, but is really part of the original Wurzbach family and is still owned by the Wurzbach family. I included a picture I found of the place from the 1960's I think.

I thought it was so strange that there was no mention anywhere of it closing down, glad to hear they are staying.
