Good forum, my husband is a frequent flyer there. I think the consensus on that forum is 10 acres also.

Instead of everyone guessing you can go straight to the State of Texas homepage and find out all of the info needed. If you don't know which department anything will be under you can always go to www.texas.gov and use the search feature.

As far as firearms, here is the link to everything you will need to know about owning, carrying, discharging of a firearm in the State of Texas.
