Half acre lot -- hmmmm....maybe Hollywood Park and Castle Hills. Forget Alamo Heights.

Also, remember that as a renter YOU will be responsible for yard maintenance. May need to work this cost into the rent -- or sweat it out on those 100 degree summer days........ UGH

Another neighborhood you might consider is Oakland Estates, just outside the Medical Center. Boundaries are Prue Road to the north, Huebner Road to the south, Babcock Road to the west, and Southwell to the east. Most of the lots are going to be 1+ acre. Very rural feel to the neighborhood.
