Today I was going to go to lunch at one of my favorite restaurants...EZ's. Since the location at the Forum is pretty close to home and work, aside from the one on New Braunfels I was going to go.

There was a sign on the door "We've Moved!" That was the best EZ's in the city.

The one on N. New Braunfels was my second choice, now first. The one at the Quarry is filled with too many trouble making, up to no good kids every weekend. I can't stand it. The Quarry has turned into a hang out for gangs and kids who are loud and disrupt the peace. They've also ruined my favorite book store, Borders. I went Friday night and there was kids running around, screaming, and just up to no good.

Anyway, back to my origonal post subject: Why would they close the EZ's and move it further away from the people on the NE side of town? Anyone heard anything?

If they moved, then you should change your title. Why not call them and ask?

Yeah those gangs at the Quarry can get pretty rough.... It breaks my heart to hear about another bookstore being taken over by gangs!

Hey you... get off my front lawn!

Gangs in bookstores? Seriously? Wannabe thuggish kids, maybe but actual gangs, I doubt it. Same for EZ and the Quarry as a whole. Those aren't gangs, those are juvenile kids who try to act and seem tough.

Yep...nothing more than loud, obnoxious teenagers wanting to attract attention. Idiots!

I totally agree, the Quarry has really gone down hill with all the little thug, gangsters, want-to-be gangster...they are all in the same category. The new development at the Quarry looks really nice, but I am sure it will be ruinned.
I have noticed there are always SAPD at the EZ's at the Quarry, I am assuming they get free or discounted food. I suppose they do that to discourage the riff raff from hanging out there. I have never noticed any police at the other EZs or am I just missing them?

I'm scratching my head over the notion of gangbangers at The Quarry, too. I was at the Panera Bread store there on Saturday and saw the following: a bunch of cheerleaders and a couple of basketball players in their uniforms from Alamo Heights; a quartet of women in a booth sharing 3 laptops; some senior citizens with walkers; some 50-something men who were probably lawyers or CFOs or investment bankers enjoying a weekend out with their families. I was probably underdressed compared to most of those people, in my shorts and golf shirt.

As for the OP's original question, I think The Forum is probably getting oversaturated with restaurants. EZ's has so many locations around town, it's just not that special. It probably didn't do well amidst all of that competition.

Speaking of EZ's - there has been an EZ's coming soon at Stone Oak/1604 for months now...with no sign of any sort of construction activity. This really doesn't make sense as there is one just down 1604 at Blanco/1604. Did EZ's over build?
