If your looking for your typical coinage, they say kiddie parks are the best, specifically playgrounds.....hehehe

Beaches are good too, cuz stuff is always washing up, not to mention all the supposed lost treasure in the Padre Island area. Sucken Spanish ships and such.....

Recently Purchaced A Detector And Looking Forward In Getting Out There To Hunt.

Thanks for the heads up!
I think that's the way I'll play it if we can't find out where to get one. If asked, I'll say that I heard a rumor that you needed a permit in SA but no one on the SA staff had ever heard of such a thing. How can I buy a permit if no one knows anything about it?

OK, just got off the phone with Metal Detector Permits Section, Parks and Recreation. Ignorance is no longer a defense. Permits are required to hunt on city property (parks). The permit is FREE and the office where you get them is at 114 West Comerce, 10th floor, Ms. Barbara Galloway (207-8797) She said if you don't have one you could get a ticket....

Another safety measure because of today's hostile environment is to go hunting with at least one more person (or more). Not only will the crooks relieve you of whatever you found, they'll also take your equipment. Beware. (The ones I like are the ones that come to a gunfight with knives-yes some of them are that stupid)...

Got my new metal detector today!! I can't wait to go "treasure hunting". I played in the yard and found a pop top and a spent .22 casing.
