Hi,

My dh and I are living in las vegas right now and I'm in the last couple of semesters of nursing school. I'll have my RN by the end of this summer. We've been here for about 5 years now and want to make a change. We are considering the houston or galveston area. But some of my fellow students are from the San Antonio and Corpus Christi areas and they seem to think we'll like those areas better. We'll be visiting all four areas during my spring break. in a couple of weeks. Any nurses out there know how hard it is for a new grad to get a job in corpus christi or san antonio? Also, any areas we should look at in terms of living? Starting salary for new RN's and internship programs?

Thanks.

Dee

Well San Antonio is known for it's Medical industry. The Medical center in the NW side is one of the Best places to be for a Medical career and it keeps growing; almost every month there's a new facility being built there. Corpus is not so much a city to live in as a city to visit in the weekends. I'm not to sure but I heard it's getting hit hard by inflation rates.

It is a dump here ,, we are losing our Dr.'s to San Antonio and other places due to the outrageous amount of malpractice suits . The malpractice insurance is very high .The school system is unspeakable unless you go private, empty abandoned buildings , trash , loads of homeless ,and I'm not even gonna mention the general population here ,,,,

oh my City was once so beautiful ,,, I have loved Corpus for a lifetime, to see it sliding downhill like this is a tragedy
