Driving out Military Dr W towards Potranco this afternoon, on the median near the Ott school was the FIRST BLUEBONNET OF THE SEASON! Yea!!!! Get your cameras and kiddos ready, with this rain I think that you will be seeing seas of blue soon!!!

Is is not a huge patch...just two little patches with maybe 8-12 blooms...but they ARE good to see for sure! I consider them "scouts" for the rest of them!

I'm hoping they return to my "Wildflower Garden" that is my uncultivated back yard!! Last year they were gorgeous! And the Indian Blankets, and tons of others, too.

Speaking of purple flowers...can someone tell me what that wonderful grape bubblegum smelling flowering tree is that I've been smelling? Wish I could be more descriptive, but I've never smelled anything like it. The blossoms are full - and there's lots of red walnut-sized seeds? on the ground beneath. But that aroma! I want to bottle it up! If anyone works at Medina - there are a few right by the security entrance, I've noticed.

Those are mountain laurels, and enjoy them! They don't stick around long enough!!

Can you guys post some blue bonnet pics? I've heard so much about them for years but have never seen them (may be too late by the time we arrive in 3 weeks?) - they sound so pretty! I would like to see what they look like.

I love love love love the bluebonnets... and I love all the cheap dumb stuff they sell with the bluebonnets on them.....
notepads, cards, towels, trivets, coasters, stationery, keychains, bookmarks... you name it....

and I REALLY love the Indian Paint.... what a gorgeous gorgeous color!!!

gonna be a lovely ride up the highway soon.....
