Wanting to relocate to SA from Indianapolis, what is the cost of living, is there anything fun to do, how is the job market, what about crime rate, and any suggestions on communities to live in or around?

What makes you want to relocate here if you know nothing of the city?

Not sure why the replies are so caustic. I have a hard time finding the various links described.

One, no more snow.

Two, plenty of activities. The newspaper is full of different and unique adventures. Also there is the SA Current with art shows and alternative activities.

Three, not sure what you want to do career wise, but the usual response is to rent the first year and get your bearings. There are several central living areas for the younger crowd, notably The Pearl on the North side and Southtown just south of downtown. Travel time between the tow areas is less than 15 minutes.

Good luck and if you have specific questions, ask.

If education is a factor, then San Antonio might be an option. San Antonio is ranked 6th for African Americans with at least a bachelors degree in terms of percentage. (Houston is number 5 and Austin 7)

People are so rude sometimes. Thank you for showing some manners and being an example of what a hospitable person in SA looks like.

-cost of living is cheap.
-fun would be outdoors stuff, spurs, and historical stuff.
-jobs probably pay less than in indianapolis and it may be harder to find a job.
-crime rate is bad in the bad areas but otherwise fine.
-I suggest living in downtown if you are young and want an apartment/condo, or if you want to buy/rent a house then King William if you wanna be near downtown. or Alamo Heights area/Monte Vista if you want to be 5-10 minutes north of downtown.

I'm not sure about the job comments.

San Antonio median income is higher than Indianapolis and our cost of living is equal.
