The article doesn't mention moving to another location within Pearl. "I'll be back!" is a bit vague but I wish him well.

TX Farm2Table!! Drat, they were awesome and methinks this is less of a closure than a buyout of the space. Now that The Pearl is moving along nicely, I think they likely got a swank offer to toddle off, reopen somewhere else and make way for someone new.

I do hope that's the case. They served amazing food, some of the best pasta salad I've ever had and ran, what appeared to be, a successful business. Always packed when I've been.

A friend told me some quizno's on the NE side closed and became subways, any truth to this?

The only one I know of where that happened was the former Quiznos location at Perrin-Beitel & 410. (There was already another Subway further out Perrin-Beitel.) There couldn't be or have been more than a half-dozen Quiznos locations in what I would consider NE San Antonio/Bexar County. The Quiznos location on Austin Hwy. across the parking lot from Walmart that closed months ago still has not re-opened, and now has a "For Lease" sign in the window.

The Quiznos franchises in San Antonio are apparently independently owned and operated (although some franchisees may have multiple stores). I found this out the hard way when I tried to use some Quiznos coupons I got in the mail at the location closest to me. They wouldn't accept them. Said they were distributed by one of the other local franchise owners, but neither of his two stores were anywhere close to my neighborhood.

There's something odd happening with the Quizno's. One of the merchandising/auditing companies is hiring people to go to various Quizno locations and take a picture of the location and inside to verify that they are closed. I can only guess that some are apparently operating and not paying their franchise fees.

A friend of mine told me a few days ago that either the Quizno's on Hwy 46 or the one near 281 and Evans has a sign saying they are closing, but will open as another sandwich shop. I have not been able to find any info on that.

I thought that the 281/Evans one just opened?
