Okay everyone, the Longhorn Steakhouse is going to open in April, according to the website for the City of Live Oak. Now a co-worker John ate a week or two ago at the Live Oak Olive Garden. He said it looked like they are building ANOTHER restaurant next to the Longhorn, but not sure what.

Another Olive Garden next to yet another Longhorn Steakhouse. Shocked

I will say that Darden is very smart when it comes to properly placing their concepts.

I usually don't do chains, but I'd go to Bahama Breeze if they ever put one in SA.

New BBQ/Sports Bar open at Colonies North (IH-10/Wurzbach). Space had previously hosted 2-3 Indian restaurants, a Souper Salads, and maybe something else before that. From MySA article:

Keith Hirschman, Skywalk’s director of operations, said the family-friendly bar will be outfitted with 15 TVs and offer at least 60 beers, specialty margaritas and a full bar. But he hopes to also make Skywalk a destination for food.

“We don’t even really know how to label ourselves right now,” Hirschman said. “We are going to have the wings, and a short rib brisket burger, but we will also be able to provide a top-flight barbecue experience that will set us apart from your traditional sports bar.”

They'll be closed by early 2022.

In the restaurant world, a failure to plan is a plan for failure.

If they don't even know their concept, how is their customer supposed to figure it out in a very crowded San Antonio market.

We already have a TON of these types. They permeate this city, opening and closing very quickly.

Hey folks anyone live out in Cibolo? While doing the pony mail route for the district, on my way to Sippel Elementary , I saw a new place. It is on FM1103 and sits between the Sonic and the Turningstone pet Hospital. It looks like it might be drive through only. They had a sign saying ”Coming Soon Breaker Monkey”, or something with the word monkey as part of the name. Wonder if its another coffee place or not.

Question:

Didn't we have an ongoing thread on 'Where We Last Ate' or something of that nature?

A review thread of where we've gone recently. I seem to remember it, but can't find it in a search.

Tried an Italian restaurant off of Summit parkway on 410 the other day called "Albi's Vite." It's a family-run place, the owner is a young man and he's got his dad, mom, and friends helping him out. Very impressed. I grew up in a city know for it's Italian food, so I think I can accurately say I've eaten very few decent Italian meals here in San Antonio. This is the best one I've been to in a long time. Probably going to go back again this weekend.
