Urban Taco is not good at all tried it once, overpriced and taco cabana is probably better.

I agree on Urban Taco. Not worth.

Las Palapas on 1604 and Bandera is now Mia's Grill.

We went to Mia's the other night. It's the same as Las Palapas just without the name. I'm guessing the owner decided to stop paying Las Palapas.

Great news for Los Barrios fans....they will be opening their 3rd location just off of 151 and Wiseman area this year...going to name it after momma Viola who was murdered a few years back.

REALLY looking forward to having them in the area....sometime Mid-Nov is the projected opening date depending on weather and construction. GREAT people with GREAT Mexican food...plans are for it to be a lot like Los Barrios Hascindia on Redland road with a large outdoor eating/patio area. They bought 5 acres total!

So off I went into El Bucanero at 11 AM sharp. The place was devoid of customers, but FULL of waitstaff bustling around & getting things ready! They were so accomodating! The cutie who saw to me was enthusiastic beyond measure, I don't think I've had such an excited waitress in a long while.

I sat down & ordered everything I wanted within seconds: fish ceviche (what I came there for) & camarones el diablo. I head off to wash my hands & by the time I sit back down, out comes my ceviche! I begin devouring it voraciously with the crispy tostadas they brought out.....it was SO delicious! The perfect hint of lime, the soft texture, the tanginess.....oh, man, it was good. Soon after that, the camarones came out & this spicy dish tantalized my taste buds. Not as much as the ceviche, but in its own way, it was great.

The ceviche, on the other hand? This is what we come here for! As for the accoutrements in the restaurant, everything's pretty nice, seems very "newish". Service was beyond prompt. The cute waitress kept coming around asking me if I needed anything, did I want anything. So polite & so helpful. Some may think borderline annoying, but I was in a very good mood, stuffing my face with ceviche.

A few minutes after I came in, the 2nd customer of the day showed up. After that, it was a veritable torrent. The door was opening up every 90-120 seconds with new customers. Definitely a happening place, for sure, even for "early" in the morn.

I polished off my ceviche bowl with an obscene smile on my face & then ordered some flan/chocolate cake hybrid to go. It was pretty good at home, but it certainly isn't the reason I would come here.

Absolutely delicious and fantastic. I'll have to visit during lunch and/or evening hours sometime soon, just to compare.

Service: 9/10 (borderline annoying if one is not in a good mood)
Food: 11/10
Ambience: 9/10
Price: 8/10

FREAKING DELICIOUS!!!!!!1111

I can't wait for this, it's right outside my subdivision. Westover Hills at Wiseman where it turns into Hunt Lane. We see the construction every day, and are so happy they've bought all that land. Now we just have to worry about the adjacent parcel...lol which I think actually belongs to a Lutheran church...but the rumors are they are not interested in building, so...who knows.
