My understanding is they are renovating the old Dillards building downtown into a new restaurant/entertainment area. That is where Fogo de Chao is going into.

This could work. They did something similar in the old Lord and Taylor space at the Galleria. It has been very successful.

They're redeveloping Rivercenter Mall into a more upscale destination. Right now work is being down on the exterior. In other phases a Ritz or Four Season hotel will be built on the site of what is now the parking garage on Commerce.

Sorry, no, not Fogo, the Galleria redeveloped an old Lord and Taylor space with nice restaurants similar to what the Rivercenter is doing. It's been successful.

There was , I believe, a thread on TRE. With that said , I eat there 2-3 time a week . The food is excellent and the service superb.

It's not new but I can't say enough good things about El Sol Bakery & Bistro on Presa near SouthTown. It's a place I frequent almost weekly. Besides that Madhatters and Green are great places if you live/work in the downtown-ish area.

The thing that we're missing here in SA are good breakfast places! Besides breakfast tacos, of course!

The Egg & I is pretty good. We used to go to umm... the breakfast place in/near Alamo Heights @ Carousel Court (?). They have one other location up in/near the Stone Oak area, iirc. The Magnolia Pancake house is great but it's always so hard to get in and I always feel rushed there because they are so freakin' busy all weekend.

I don't want Denny's, IHOP, McDonalds, etc... suggestions??

Mr. Cod opened up on Friday. I didn't try it yet, but there is a not-so-good review posted on SilverCreek78250's blog.....not his review but a reader of his. I'm crushed.

Mr. Cod is at Guilbeau and Timber Path/ish.

Have you tried the IHOP Cafe in Castle Hills? It's small and modern. A complete 180 to what IHOP is.
