Please tell me this was closing for the holiday season, and not permanently?
(EDIT) .... nope, just looked at their Facebook. They are closing due to increases in rent and not going to open another place anywhere else.

Sad. This was a great coffee shop.

That's too bad. I liked that place. Raising rates seems a stupid strategy unless you have an immediate replacement. I recall Drew's restaurant got nailed by a rent increase and the replacement T & A bar flopped. The space was empty for a long time. So how does that economic impact work for the strip mall owners?

I wonder if rent increases are tied with the property tax increases?

I am convinced that location is doomed. Anyone remember Watermark Grill? It was fabulous but the Landlord made impossible to stay in business.

Carl's on Bandera and 1604 HEB Plus plaza is one of those closing down. I tried them once - standard grease fast food.

Bummer.
I don't care for their burgers, but they do have decent breakfast items.
Gives my cholesterol pill something to do.
Wonder what new Mexican restaurant will occupy the building now?
