The meatballs were very "bready", too much filler - practically non-existent mozzarella. Was told by the server that the calamari was "steak cut" (think Paesanno's), it wasn't, it was premade, frozen rings. Overall, very disappointed, would not go back or recommend.
What were you expecting from a restaurant named for an Italian wine?

I have found that the best time to visit a restaurant is after a bad health inspection. The days following that report on KSAT 12 are sometimes the best food you will ever taste.

Tried two new burger chains that just opened up in San Antonio recently. Both are on the pricier end of fast food (around ten bucks for a regular-sized burger, fries and drink). Five Guys Burgers has a perfectly decent burger, but nothing special. And their smallest serving of fries is enough to feed an entire family by itself - there's no option to order a "normal" portion of fries, and that really bugs me. But my most lasting impression of the place - it is VERY LOUD inside, so loud it is distracting. Their menu is very limited (by design) - sort of like In 'n Out if you were to double the size of everything and double the price.

Then I tried Smashburger. Broader menu options. Large hand-formed burger cooked to medium. Toppings and condiments placed on the burger and dish with obvious deliberation. Multiple sides options. Worth a return visit.

Last night while I was headed to the carwash off of 281 and Encino Pkwy area, I saw a "Tink a Taco coming soon" banner hanging in the little strip center behind it.

Their website claims "Mexican", but unfortunately their menu is all Tex-Mex.
