In Schertz at the corner of Elbel Road and FM 3009, they are building a Slim's Chickens. I'll try it, though i don't think Schertz needs another chicken joint. Good thing is, it is across the street from where I work and on the side by the post office, so I can just cross the street and go there for lunch.

Two new restaurants are coming to The Rim, including one headquartered in Austin.

Ground-up new builds for a location of Austin-based Via 313 Pizzeria — a Detroit-style pizza concept — and San Diego-based The Crack Shack have been filed for by Utah-based Savory Development I, LLC, owner of the two expanding chains, with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

I think rent is high there. High to the point where there isn't enough foot traffic to justify it. I am sure the pandemic didn't help either.

It is just donuts.....bread with sugar on top. You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig. The article had me somewhat wanting to try it until I saw that they usually have an queue out the door. That combined with the fact it is downtown as well. Hard pass. Long queues is why I stopped going to "The Donut Shop" off Fredericksburg rd on occasion.

Interesting about Salt Grass coming to New Braunfels. Haven't been to one in years. Taking off from work for my birthday tomorrow. I'll be 66 years young. Due to the heat, think I will try the new BJ's Brew Haus in Live Oak. Go to a movie or some thing indoors.
