New location for Smashburger- Potranco-

It'll be in the same strip as Kennedy's Chicago Pizza and Shipley's.

Stopped by new Insignia tonight (formerly Luca).

Overall OK - somewhat disappointed, but will give it another shot as it just opened.

Crab Cake was not good. Greek Salad was good but small portion was overpriced at $9. Brisket Burger was tasty. Red wine flights had a nice selection, white wine flight was horrible as was the house chardonnay.

Nevertheless, still like the space and had a nice waitress.

I liked the brisket burger too. Especially the tomato jam.

Default wings2go on culebra.......

I called yesterday around 5pm and there was no answer. So i hopped in the car and went down to there location on culebra.. And sure enough, i went to thge door and it was locked tight and I decided to take a peek through the door and what was weird is that there was food, beer mugs ect. scattered all over the tables yet.... Kinda looks like they trashed the place before they closed........

I noticed that a new BBQ place is opening soon on San Pedro, just south of Oblate. I didn't catch the name.

A few blocks to the north, the newest location of Jimmy John's subs is open in the shopping center next to El Pollo Loco and The Guitar Center.

ANOTHER small Mexican Restaurant - Taco Riendo will open at Austin Hwy ( in the former BBQ Bucket location)
MiRak Won Korean Restaurant on Austin Hwy was closed for a remodeling. Now re-opened but with a different sign. It says Korean cousine. I can't read the name. Will check on it this weekend.

Mi Rak Won has had a sign to that effect for about 3 years now. I've seen so many owners come and go there that I can't count them all. They've always been Korean. Although, in the 80's they advertised themselves as a (lousy) Chinese restaurant where you could get lunch and tea for $3. The Korean food was off-menu. Where they actually made their money was through gambling, but that's another story

They had one owner in the early 90's who fixed the place up quite respectably, but she never got the word out successfully. It's still the place I go to when I get a cold. You can't beat a hot, steamy bowl of jampong to destroy a bug.

None of the owners have ever changed the name. I'm really surprised to hear they've done that now. It's always been a favorite with the local Korean community.
