Sambos.......
The name of this restaurant became synonymous with bigotry.
My folks used to take us to the Malt House before the seventies and eighties, however.
During the fifties and sixties I am certain..

There was a Sambo's on Pat Booker Road in Universal City, a Three Bears hamburger place where China Moon is, and a De Winn's Cafe also on Pat Booker. Loop 410 as you go to North Star Mall had CoCo's. There was a seafood restaurant next to the Galaxy theatre, now a Santikos. There was Christie's Seafood on Broadway, and Youngblood's Fried Chicken.

we used to eat at "UR Cooks"at Lohmann's Village & Loop 410. 1989 was the 1st time I ate there. I was hooked after that! I think it closed in the mid to late 90's. it was an awesome place! great steaks! I sure miss it!

there was also a "Sambos" on Babcock, close to Loop 410. we used to eat there sometimes after gigs in the early-mid 1980's. I don't remember when it closed.

I liked Po Folks. I usually went to the one on Fredericksburg Road but went to the one on Walzem and the one on Fair Ave.
