Hi!
I'll be moving to the San Antonio area soon (job) - in the area off of I-10, near Boerne. I'm searching for a safe apartment complex that's moderately upscale, has fitness amenities, and is mostly filled with professional singles or graduate students.
I'm a 25 y.o. female who's not into partying or booze. I'm searching for like-minded friends. Avocations include Hiking, rock-climbing, cycling, book clubs, intelligent discussions, etc.

Any suggestions for an apartment complex? Places to go to meet like-minded singles? Good singles groups?
Thanx!

The La Cantera area and the area west of 10 on Vance Jackson will be fine with working near Boerne. If you'd like to be "in" town the Pearl brewery area would be good but the commute could be kind of painful once you get passed 410. However, both of these reccomendations depend on your budget. Those areas are both pretty pricey (I'm thinking $1000 a month or more) but you could also look in the Medical Center for the same(ish) group of people and vibe for a cheaper price. There are some very nice apartments in the area but you gotta search. A locator may be able to help if budget is an issue.

Default Budget, and meeting singles

Thanks for the reply.
My budget would accommodate most apartments out there, although I'd like to stay under 1800 a month. A one bedroom should suffice. I think I'd like to stay in the far northwest rather than in town.

Safety is my number one concern. But also, I'd really like to be surrounded by singles who share some of my passions. I've buried my nose in books and job for so long now, that I need to get out of my shell and socialize a bit.
There are around six or so complexes up I-10 that look appealing.
*'Was just wondering if anyone knew which one(s) attracted more grad/medical/dental students and professional singles?
Besides the apartment, any recommendations for places, groups, or clubs frequented by singles?

I've been gone for about two years so names escape me. However, getting involved in the San Antonio Sports and Social Clubs scene helped some of my newer SA friends get connected. Being in Grad school you'll find people on campus too. Many med students stay around the Medical Center. As I said, there are nice apartments in that area too. A drive up to Boerne without traffic would be about 30 minutes. In, could be anywhere from 35 to an hour depending on how bad it is.
