I apologize in advance if this topic/question has been covered previously, but I did not spot it in the few pages I did peruse.

I'm just asking the standard "City X" to City Y" question that's popular on these forums, with regards specifically to Miami and San Antonio. By chance, are there any ex-Miamians on this board now living in San Antonio? I'm curious as to the comparisons/feedback.

I am knocking on the door of 37 and was born, raised, and have lived in Miami my entire life. My wife and I are interested in moving elsewhere once our respective kids are off to college and San Antonio has caught our eye for some time now.

Any insight is appreciated and a happy 4th to all!

adtobias, I thank you very much for your reply and insight. I've read numerous positive comments about San Antonio's cost of living as compared to some of the other major cities, but had not seen any direct ones between it and Florida.

I also heard about the lack of hurricanes, due to San Antonio's location far enough inland. That is certainly a plus.

Out of curiosity, what city/cities in Florida did you live in while down here?
