I have read one report that his Mother In Law evidently had a PO BOX in the little town this tragedy occurred in...wonder if it was a continued domestic type of connection to him and the location? Does anyone know if any of his wife's relatives perhaps were connected with the church?

PRAYERS for all that have suffered loss during this tragic event.

Why the difference?

I'm still waiting for the talks to happen from Las Vegas...
not only talk about it immediately, I believe our president immediately said he should be executed and he's cutting the program the let him immigrate to the US. all within 24 hours.

Really? you can't figure out the difference??

Gun control is one aspect that should always be debated. Churches and places of worship should also consider hiring armed security guards. Just like a high school football stadium has some police walking around, many churches have as many people as a football game.

If we keep our head in the sand this will keep reoccurring and reoccurring. As they say, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
These mass shooting stories are almost predictable each time they happen.

Usually happens in the following order:

1. Gunman starts shooting people

2. Mass panic and rumors start flying around when media finds out of the shooting.

3. Police arrives and either shoots the killer or killer kills himself. Police spokesperson goes "blah blah...we don't have all the facts...blah blah" even though rumors already made their course.

4. People start talking about prayers and thoughts. Some (not all) seem to do this for deflection away from gun control debate. (It is going to happen anyways.)

4. Almost always, someone is made a "Hero". Sometimes rightfully so.

5. Follow up on the shooting trickles down to almost nothing within a few weeks.

6. Wait for the next crazy person with guns to start another mass shooting and repeat all the steps above.

What troubled souls? Do you know them by name? Who exactly do you want to heal?

It IS a gun problem. Whoever denies it is insane. A truck you mentioned used in NYC incident was made for transportation, not for killing.

The very purpose of a gun is to kill. Guns don't have any other purposes.

As for healing troubled souls, you can't heal human souls. All of us have troubled souls, INCLUDING YOU,...in a bad day. Our souls are sick, evil and incurable. This is a "normal" and "natural" human condition. In any case, put ANY sane and responsible person with a gun in their pocket in a slightly adverse condition (which is basically an everyday life in the US) and you have a recipe for trouble.

The only way to fight this issue is to prevent guns to get in humans' hands in the first place, doesn't matter if a person is "good" or "evil". Selling guns in a store like bread or butter is insane. The second amendment should go, plain and simple. It has nothing to do with the perception of freedom and liberty. And it looks like it doesn't protect, either, quite the opposite is the case. In any case, the cost for this "freedom" became too high. Too often the freedom to have guns is getting misused.

You cannot prevent gun killings completely, but you can decrease the casualties dramatically.

You can pray for the victims and their families until you drop dead, but nothing will change until there are drastic changes in gun laws and gun control. Doing nothing about this issue is a crime. It is called common sense.

To the ones complaining about "prayers and thoughts " ....what is something concrete that you have done about the violence? I'm not including changing your Facebook profile picture to let the world know you have just had it and can't even anymore.

We have guns and they're not going to be turned in, so if that is your suggestion, Trump is right. Mental illness for sure if you think we're going to be sitting ducks.

His mother was murdered. He's motherless due to domestic violence. Shut up.

The in-laws are members of the church but weren't there yesterday according to the Clinton News Network this morning.

So what have you done about the violence?

Carry on, folks!
The question is why did it take the neighbor so long? How do we know that there would've been more killings or not? The neighbor did the best he could but he's not an officially trained police sniper so his fire is just as likely to be friendly fire that kills other innocent people as to killing the wacko.

The media narrative likes to have a villain and a hero and this neighbor is being set up as the hero because it's better for network ratings.

The simple fact that everyone is ignoring is that church services are very vulnerable to a mass shooting. It's one place that everyone usually isn't carrying and a place that people are relaxed and not absorbing anything but the service.

All churches should consider armed guards from now on.
