I understand more than you think but apparently you missed my point. It is simply a cash cow disgusted as a safety measure.

I don’t contribute to the cash cow, in other words...I do stop.

That being said, it doesn’t change my opinion of why they were installed. LV just saw an legal opportunity to “tax” people, many of whom probably don’t even live in LV.

I don't have a problem with that at all.
I wish there were more red light cameras in this city. I saw more people running red lights in my first year here than I had seen anywhere else in my 30 plus years driving, and it has only gotten worse in the years since.

Tell you what - I'll set you up with a ride-along with LVPD, and you can witness the results of a few light runners, and talk with their LEO's. Many of them still aren't really happy with the camera system, but can't see a workable alternative given the number of lights on Bandera Road vs the number of officers available. Or just go see for yourself, rather than sitting there tossing opinions that have no basis. I don't like the camera system either - but also don't see any viable alternative if they're going to get a handle on the idiots that refuse to follow basic traffic laws.

I dislike red light runners just as much as you prim8.

I am just saying the way that LV is dealing with the issue isn't the solution and the true motive is profit.

I don't need a ride-along to see the red light runners. I see them daily some of which happens in front of LEO with no action taken.

Instead of addressing why there is not enough manpower, they decide to slap on more cameras while getting a nice check at the end of each month or year? I mean, it is all for the safety of the drivers, right?

LEO cannot be everywhere at the same time. IF LEO were to chase only moronic drivers all day would be consumed with thousands of these alone.
Sometimes there ain't enough cops, and where are you when one needs them. They have enough to deal with everyday. Perhaps one cop per ten thousand Texans.
