Just a heads up. Leon Valley starts rolling out red light cameras this week.
"San Antonio-area motorists could soon find themselves getting a citation for running a red light -- even if there wasn't a police officer at the intersection. First of nine devices will become operational as early as this week. The majority of the cameras are placed along Bandera Road.
Violators caught on camera will have to pay a $75 fine, which is a civil penalty that won't be reflected on motorists' driving records.
Click through the slideshow to see which intersections will be getting red-light cameras:"

Bandera and Timco
Bandera and El Verde
410 and Wurzbach
Bandera and Reindeer Trail
Bandera and Huebner
Bandera and Grissom
Huebner and Evers
Bandera and Poss

^^^ Just eight. Where is the ninth?

I'm not sure how Leon Valley will handle this but I'm pretty sure that Balcones Heights' red-light cameras will ticket you if you don't absolutely stop on a "right turn on red". Something to keep in mind.

I believe the line of text that says:

410 and Wurzbach

....are two different intersections. One is on Bandera at the highway, and the other is on Bandera one intersection west of the highway, which is the Wurzbach intersection.

Now to see how Leon Valley handles all those unpaid violations it's about to receive.

Yes, they do. Unfortunately, I know from personal experience.

A friend of mine got a ticket for this. He was turning right where that McDonalds is and didn’t come to a complete stop so he got a ticket in the mail.

so anyone had experience contesting such a ticket?
just curious as we know these cameras are not 100% fool proof, plus there's scenario's that could occur that put you in a jam.

ex. I was leaving work one day and nearly got t-boned as I approached a light (that was green). I slammed on my brakes, saved my life, then proceeded through the intersection. only problem was the cop sitting waaaaay back only saw me run a red light (as the light had cycled after nearly missing a bad accident). so he nearly gave me a ticket even though I was 100% innocent.

In this instance though the camera would probably just send me a ticket as I was in the intersection while the light was red.
