For the past 18 years I've been in northern California wine country working on refrigeration systems. My wife and I are going to be relocating to the San Antonio area in the spring of 2019. I was curious how the wine / brewery industry is in that area. I would like to find a job in the same field since I've spent so many years at it. If there is a better location for that I would appreciate some suggestions.

Fredericksburg is nice but almost too small for me. Where I live right now is an hour drive to the city. I am wanting to be closer than that when I move.

There are numerous wineries spread out all over the hill country. The Fredricksburg area has a sizable amount of them.
Do a Google search...I run across them all the time in the middle of nowhere when I'm out riding and exploring.
San Antonio is going to be the nearest bigger city...Austin also.
Best of luck!

I would definitely look at the outskirts of San Antonio. You will find a lot of information like TX Tea said. Suggest just spending a week driving around if you can afford to do so. I grew up here and kind of take a lot for granted. My wife is a Realtor and she works with a lot of people that find are moving here, and they find this area to be a fantastic place to relocate. I guess it depends on what you seek and where you come from though. Best of luck!

Oh - for what it is worth, my neighbor is an independent HVAC tech... he does very well.
